Project: in-browser AprilTag detector

I’ve been wanting to detect AprilTags using my Android phone for a while now. There’s an app, but it doesn’t support the tag families I want.

Luckily someone had already done the hard work of convincing Emscripten to compile the AprilTag library to WASM (see arenaxr/apriltag-js-standalone).

So without further ado: here’s AprilTag Detector, a way to detect AprilTags using just your web browser.

Features:

  • Tag families: tag36h11, tag25h9, tag16h5, tagStandard41h12, tagStandard52h13, tagCircle21h7, tagCircle49h12, tagCustom48h12
  • Live detection using your device camera
  • Record all tags seen during a period of time (useful for surveying an area)
  • Upload an image from your device
